founded in October 22, 1924 by
Dr. Ralph C. Smedley. Today Toastmasters International is represented in 90 countries, with almost 11,300 clubs and 220,000 members. The success of Toastmasters is due to the ongoing development of its educational programs and servicing the needs of its members through clubs.
Toastmasters International - a nonprofit organization - has helped more than four miilion men and women to conquer their fears of public speaking. It is the largest non-profit communication and leadership development organization in the world.
All work of the club is done by volunteer members, even the development of this web site. Club members organize their own meetings, elect their own club officers and take responsibility for the club activities.

Toastmasters International offers a " learn - by - doing " program in which participants hone their skills in a comfortable and supportive club atmosphere. Constructive feed-back , or evaluation, is the heart of the Toastmasters program. Whenever a member presents a prepared speech, an evaluator will point out the presentation's strengths and offer suggestion for improvement on weak points.

Toastmasters come from all walks of life and are rewarded with personal and career growth. Toastmasters can earn speaking as well as leadership awards.
